Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills are critical for advancing the mining industry and building the workforce of tomorrow. That’s why Hecla Director of Continuous Improvement Jeff Rosser serves on the Board of Directors for the Idaho STEM Action Center.
Jeff recently participated with hundreds of students, educators, elected officials and businesses from across Idaho at the fifth annual STEM Matters! Celebration where students explored virtual reality, designed electronic circuits with Play-Doh and interacted with robots and drones. STEM education helps build the critical thinking and technology skills that are necessary for exploring, discovering and mining the minerals that are used in everyday life.
